Robert Trotta's Biography

 

 

Private First Class, Robert Trotta, age twenty-four, died accidentally on June 6, 1945, while on maneuvers Camp Shelby, Mississippi.

        Robert entered the Army at Fort Dix, September 16, 1940, and was assigned to camps in almost every one of the States.

        He served thirty-two months at Attu in the Aleutian Islands, and was home on a short furlough before he was sent to Camp Shelby, Mississippi.

        While in camp, preparing for overseas service in China, Robert was drowned in
Lake Shelby, near the Mississippi River.

He was a member of Battery C, 164th F. A. Battalion all of the time he was in service.
